The AHB-lite to APB bridge is an AHB-lite slave, providing an interface between the high-speed AHB-lite and the low-power APB. Read and write transfers on the AHB are converted into equivalent transfers on the APB. Because the APB transfers are not pipelined, the bridge introduce wait states when the AHB-Lite master attempts to perform pipelined transfers.
